Bobby and Autumn: Chapman Hill, Jefferson Georgia

My 2021 wedding season couldn’t have started with a sweeter couple! Bobby and Autumn are two of the most genuine, good-hearted people I’ve had the pleasure of working with! It was a sunny, mild winter day out at Chapman Hill Wedding & Events in Jefferson, Georgia on Saturday. Autumn and her girls were getting ready in the bridal suite, and Caitlin, Autumn’s maid of honor, owner of The Posh Cakery in Monroe and a friend of mine was more than happy to give me a tour, and make sure I had everything I needed. She had even taped up a copy of the photography schedule on the door! (Y’all—in short, she was the BEST maid of honor EVER!!)

After photographing Autumn’s details, we went outside with the girls in their robes and Caitlin brought along a bottle of champagne for some fun photos!

Autumn’s mother helped zip her into her gown, and her bridesmaids helped fluff her gown and add the finishing touches. Autumn’s lace appliqué gown was soft and romantic and her cathedral length veil was elegant. We took some photos with Autumn’s parents and made sure to include her late brother—she carried a photo of him attached to her bouquet.

When it was time for the first look, I think their expressions say it all! Bobby turned and had the biggest grin as he watched Autumn walk to him, and Autumn was full of joy as she finally reached him and they embraced. We shot the first round of their portraits on the lawn followed by some with the bridal party. After finishing family photos, Bobby and Autumn took a moment to walk around and take everything in, and see the decor inside.

Sheila’s florals were stunning inside the building—a center arch draped with soft pink and cream roses was the focal point of the room. Candles lined the aisle, and in the corner, Caitlin’s elegant three-layered cake was adorned with matching flowers and a monogram cake topper.

When it was finally time for the ceremony, Autumn’s father escorted her down the aisle and she and Bobby exchanged vows and sealed their promises with a kiss. We had just enough light for about ten minutes of “just married” photos—and after helping Autumn into her custom Nike tennis shoes, we headed out to the field! When we returned, cocktail hour was underway. The guests were gathered around heaters and fire pits as they relaxed in Adirondack chairs. The bridal party was introduced, and Bobby and Autumn shared their first dance and husband and wife. After the blessing, the Master’s Table from Winder had a delicious dinner buffet ready for the guests.

Later, Bobby and Autumn cut their cake and enjoyed their reception. They were sent off by their family and friends with a sparkler exit. Bobby and Autumn, I am truly honored to have had the privilege to capture your beautiful wedding day! I loved the time I was able to spend with you both—you are perfect for one another and I hope the joy you experienced Saturday continues to surround you as you begin this amazing new chapter of marriage! God bless you both!

Bobby and Autumn: Sells Mill Park Engagement

I had the best time getting to know this sweet couple yesterday morning out at Sell’s Mill Park—and talk about troopers—it was a balmy 32 degrees out when we started shooting and they were all smiles and ready to roll no matter the weather! Bobby was such a gentleman and had his hand around Autumn every time they walked down the steep rocky terrain to ensure she didn’t slip—and getting natural smiles from these two was easy because they were so genuine and so comfortable together. They made my job easy!

They even brought Mack, their sweet French Bulldog to their shoot—and bribed with an early squeaky Christmas toy, this sweet boy did great in front of the camera!! How handsome is he in his little red bow tie?

Autumn and Bobby are wrapping up plans for their winter wedding next month in Jefferson and I am SO excited to capture their day!! Enjoy these last few weeks of planning and I can’t wait to see y’all again next month!!

Carter and Katie: 9 Oaks Farm, Monroe, Georgia

Carter and Katie were one of those couples that I loved as soon as I met. I can’t say enough about them—they are some of the kindest people I’ve ever had the privilege to know or work with. They have become more like friends—which made capturing their day even more special to me. When we shot their engagement session, Katie took the time to text me to tell me how much she loved the images. When my daughter’s cat had to be put down due to cancer and we had a hard time trying to find a kitten, Katie sent me a text to let me know her friend’s cat had kittens and she would bring us one if we wanted. After Katie’s wedding, as she and Carter were driving to Atlanta, she sent me a text to thank me and tell me how much she appreciated all we had done. That’s just the kind of person Katie is—thoughtful, considerate and always doing whatever she can to help others.

Family is also very important to Carter and Katie—and family legacies were the foundation of their wedding. I loved hearing the stories of the special items they incorporated. Katie’s wedding band was her grandmother’s—and if you look closely at the image of her wedding band, you will see her grandmother’s wedding date inscribed. The diamond in Katie’s necklace was one of the diamond earrings her grandfather gifted her grandmother. Katie’s mother also had a special surprise for her—she and Katie’s grandmother, Nink, had a bouquet wrap made for Katie from one of her grandfather’s shirts and they presented this to her as she was getting dressed.

Carter and Katie’s first look was so sweet—and my favorite part was when Katie grinned and pointed out to Carter that her dress had pockets!

Another special family tie incorporated in their wedding was the car that belonged to Katie’s Oma and Opa. The amazing thing—Carter’s grandfather also had a car identical to it—down to the same color. We made sure to get a few photos with the car before the sun went down!

Carter and Katie’s ceremony took place at sunset and was God-centered and sweet. Carter’s niece stole the show when she paraded to the bridge to get a closer view of her aunt and uncle tying the knot!

Their day could not have been more beautiful, and I am so blessed to not only know them and call them friends, but have the privilege of capturing the most important day in their lives!

Carter and Katie, I wish you the best as you embark on this amazing journey of marriage! Congratulations!!

Chuck and Lauren: 9 Oaks Farm, Monroe, Georgia

At the beginning of the week, we were looking at a 75% chance of rain for Chuck and Lauren’s wedding day…but by the time Saturday rolled around, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. The skies were blue, and the temperature was steady in the70’s—it was absolutely gorgeous out at 9 Oaks Farm!

Lauren was getting ready when we arrived, so we grabbed her bridal details to start on (and y’all—this sweet bride even brought gifts for her vendors—how amazing is that??) Lauren’s details were gorgeous and had a story behind them. Her wedding band was encircled with diamonds that had belonged to her grandmother. Her purse was jewel encrusted and had blue stones and her shoes—oh my goodness they were gorgeous and complemented her rose gold jewelry perfectly! Jess Boulter, her wedding coordinator, came and Lauren was thrilled to see the custom welcome sign Jess created to go with their Friends theme!

Lauren’s gown was a champagne color with a embroidered lace overlay and her veil was hand made by her step-mother. I loved how her day wasn’t only beautiful but there was so much sentimentality and love that went into the planning, the details and her veil.

Chuck and Lauren shared a sweet first look, and since they had as sunset ceremony we made sure to get all of their portraits in immediately after their first look. We had fun hanging with the bridal party, and Chuck’s guys requested a picture with the hatchets they received as groom’s gifts.

When it came time for the ceremony, the sun was just setting behind the red bridge and the lanterns in the bridge were glowing, and the candles were lit that lined the aisle. Lauren was beaming as she came down the aisle escorted by her mother and father.

After exchanging vows, Chuck stepped on the glass and after sharing a kiss, they threw their arms up in celebration and were full of laughter and joy as they processed down the aisle.

At the reception, the tables were lit and the dessert table was overflowing with iced Krispy Kreme donuts. Themes from Chuck and Lauren’s favorite show, Friends, were prevalent throughout their day from their welcome sign, to their cake, to their masks—their wedding was full of fun and joy which reflected Chuck and Lauren so perfectly.

Chuck and Lauren signed the Ketubah before being introduced at their reception and sharing their first dance.

I am so honored to have had the pleasure of working with this sweet, joyful couple. Chuck and Lauren—congratulations on your wedding—I wish you every joy and blessing as you begin this awesome journey together!

Zack and Annie: Historic Madison Engagement Session

Zack and Annie are both nurses. Zack works in the ICU and Annie works in labor and delivery—and they both work opposite schedules. Getting all three of our schedules to align was a bit of a challenge. Weather and a few unexpected events postponed their session a few times, but everything came together yesterday for their session—and their day couldn’t have been more perfect!!

Zack and Annie drove up from Augusta to Madison for their engagement session. Annie’s family is originally from Madison, and she’s named after a family ancestor who once lived in Madison, and the home where she lived is still standing. Annie is classic, southern, and loved the idea of incorporating historic homes in her engagement session. We had so much fun bouncing around Madison, and the weather was beautiful! The wind ensured we caught some gorgeous shots of these two!

They absolutely rocked their engagement session. They are both SO sweet, genuine, and natural together that they made my job easy behind the camera. To top it off, sweet Annie even brought me a birthday card! I am beyond excited to be a part of their special day in March—congratulations, Annie and Zack and thank you both for all that you do in the medical field!!

Will and Katherine: The Sixty-Two, Madison Georgia

I absolutely loved Will and Katherine as soon as I met them. They are so genuine, so sweet—it was so easy and fun to be around them. Katherine is the epitome of a classy southern girl, and her wedding reflected that in every way!

Her details were stunning—her gown was simple, elegant, and trimmed in lace with a row of buttons that fell all the way down her train. Her cathedral length veil was trimmed in lace and complete with a blusher and a blue monogram (what southern girl doesn’t love monograms??) She had some special details as well—some lace from her grandmother’s wedding gown and a perfume bottle that was her mother’s—so we made sure to get some photos of that as well!

Katherine’s mother and her sister Caroline helped her dress, and then she had a sweet first look with her father. After portraits with her girls and bridal portraits (thank you wind for some amazing veil shots!) Katherine prepped for a first look with Will.

When Will turned to see his stunning bride walking toward him, he was overcome with emotion. They shared some special moments together and then we shot their first round of portraits. After bridal party portraits, we hurried to the church to finish their photos—and y’all—wow!! Katherine’s long train and veil made for some stunning photos on the steps of the church!

After a God-centered ceremony at the Madison Baptist Church, they sealed their vows with a kiss and then it was time to celebrate at their reception!

I’m so honored to have had the opportunity to know these two and capture this special time in their lives! Will and Katherine, y’all are AMAZING, sweet, and I wish you every blessing as you begin your lives together!! Congratulations!

Jacob and Star: The Thompson House and Gardens

Jacob and Star’s Halloween wedding out at the Thompson House and Gardens was so unique and beautiful! We had gorgeous weather, and despite Covid changing their wedding plans and limiting their number of guests, their day was the perfect celebration of their relationship with the ones they loved the most!

One thing I noticed when I first met with Jacob and Star, and then as affirmed at their engagement session, was that Jacob is crazy about Star. You can just tell by the way he looks at her, the way he cares for her, places a hand on her, smiles at her—his genuine love and affection for Star is obvious to anyone who is around them. Their wedding day was no different—Jacob’s smile when he reached for Star’s hand when they had their first touch lit up the room.

Star planned her wedding colors and flowers to tie in with the fun Halloween date! Purples, oranges and jewel tones made up her beautiful bouquet, and the all black tuxes and black wedding cake made their wedding especially unique and memorable!

Star had a sweet first look with her father before her bridal portraits, and then later her father escorted her down the aisle to Jacob. Star’s youth pastor performed the ceremony, and after he pronounced them “man and wife”, Jacob dipped star for their first kiss!

After their first dance, their guests enjoyed a taco bar and dancing. I’m so glad this sweet and deserving couple had a memorable wedding as special as they are! It was such a privilege for me to work with them. Jacob and Star—I wish you every blessing as you begin this new chapter in your lives! Congratulations!

Tripp and Casey: The Variety Works, Madison Georgia

Tripp and Casey had a stunning wedding out at the Variety Works in historic Madison, Georgia. They were showered with rose petals, confetti, and the love of their closest family and friends! When the pastor who married Tripp and Casey asked her bridesmaids for some words that described her, timeless was one of those words—and I couldn’t agree more! Casey’s wedding reflected her classically southern, timeless taste and it couldn’t have been more beautiful!

Tripp’s mom, Chasity, is one of my colleagues. She’s an amazing wedding coordinator, and it was really special for me to have the privilege of capturing her son’s wedding and to work with Tripp and Casey. They are both such sweet souls!

We had our eyes on the radar for some impending rain, but we were blessed that the rain held off until after their wedding ceremony. Tripp and Casey shared as sweet first look and then we got some portraits of them in the park across from the James Madison Inn. The guys had as special toast with a bourbon bar that was set up in the Variety Works. The bridal party was so great to work with—and they rocked the rose petal shot that Casey wanted!

Their ceremony was God-centered and sweet, and after sealing their vows with a kiss they were ready to celebrate! After reception introductions, Tripp and Casey shared their first dance. After dinner, they cut their cakes and Casey danced with her father followed by Tripp dancing with his mom. During the reception, a live painter captured a scene from their wedding. It really was an amazing celebration of Tripp and Casey!

Tripp and Casey—I am so grateful for the opportunity to get to know you and work with you—I wish you every blessing as you begin this exciting new chapter in your lives! Congratulations!!

Anthony and Amanda: Sells Mill Park Engagement

I met Anthony and Amanda earlier this week at Sells Mill Park for their engagement session. I absolutely loved getting to know them and hang out (even though Anthony was an Alabama fan…but I won’t hold that against him! ;-))

Amanda looked so pretty in her navy dress and then she changed into a cute black off the shoulder blouse. We found a path down to the waterfall and the leaves were just starting to change which gave us the perfect fall backdrop!

Anthony and Amanda are getting married next fall at Little Gardens. Originally, they met at Outback Steakhouse when they worked together. Anthony proposed at Piedmont Park, and they have been excited about planning their wedding! Amanda wanted some kind of water in her session and she came up with the idea of Sells Mill—which ended up being fantastic!

I am SO excited to work with them and capture this special time!! Amanda and Anthony, enjoy this season of engagement! Congratulations!!

Joseph and Molly: North Georgia Mountains Engagement

This guy is really special to me. Years ago, he used to sit in my Senior British Literature third period class. He was also the starting quarterback for the Norcross High School football team—so my husband was one of his coaches. That year, Joseph led his team to a state championship. I never missed one of his games—he was never ruffled when football players came charging toward him—he was always calm, cool and collected. In the spring, he played baseball, and I was really honored when he picked me as one of his favorite teachers and I got to go walk out with him on the baseball field and watch one of his games. He was an incredible leader on the field and in the classroom, and he has a huge heart. I will never forget the year Joseph was in my class—a student who was in our third period tragically took his own life. The day after I got the news I was sitting at my desk before school started. I was still in shock and I was wondering how I was going to get through the day and be strong for my kids. A little while later, I heard a soft knock at my door. It was Jospeh—and he came to check on me to see if I was doing okay. To him, it may have been a small thing—but to me, it was something that in that difficult time meant so much to me that I’ll never forget it. Our class pulled together and made it through that difficult few weeks—and Jospeh continued to show up wearing this orange Auburn T-shirt giving me a hard time about being a Geogia Alumnae. But that’s okay—because Joseph ended up also graduating from Georgia. :-) Go Dawgs!

I saw Joseph and his sweet girlfriend Molly at several weddings for former students that I photographed over the past few years. When they finally got engaged, I was so excited when they contacted me about photographing their wedding. For their engagement session, they decided on some family land that has been in Jospeh’s family for decades. It was a special place for them, and with the leaves starting to turn in the North Georgia Mountains it made for a stunning backdrop!

Molly is not only planning their wedding—she’s enrolled in medical school and stays pretty busy with that! I loved getting to know her a little better while we traipsed through the golden fields. She looked so pretty in her fuzzy white sweaters, and she has such as sweet spirit and beautiful smile.

Jospeh and Molly were SO sweet and thoughtful—they made sure to remind me to bring a jacket in case it was cooler up in the mountains and Joseph met me at the gate and had me follow him back to the house so I wouldn’t get lost. They are both such sweet and special people, and it is such an incredible privilege for me to capture these memories for them!

Jospeh and Molly, congratulations on your engagement! I can’t wait for next fall!!

Susan: Norcross Senior, Vines Park

Meet Susan—she’s a senior at Norcross High and a varsity football cheerleader. We met earlier this week at Vines Park in Loganville for some family photos as well as some senior portraits for her! Susan has a smile that can light up a room—she was so sweet and fun to hang out with as we walked around the lake stopping at various locations for some portraits. She’s currently weighing her options for colleges, but she’s excited to get started on the application process. Her sweet sister Jane and their parents were such a joy to get to know—their sweet spirits and laughter made my job of capturing images for their family and to document this special time in Susan’s life easy! Susan, I hope you have an amazing rest of your senior year at Norcross!! Whatever school you decide to go next year will be lucky to have you!

Justin and Chrissy: Empire Mills

I met Chrissy through one of my October brides from last year—Kaylin—and I have SO enjoyed getting to know Chrissy, Justin and their sweet families. Chrissy and Justin have a really special story. Chrissy was adopted and brought to her family by a christian missionary named Betty Laudermilk (who was a special guest at their wedding). She met Justin in high school, and they’ve been together ever since.

Chrissy and I were watching the weather closely in the days that were leading up to her wedding, and it wasn’t looking good. 24 hours out, we were looking at 90% chance of thundershowers starting right about when our portraits were scheduled.

When I walked into the bridal suite, I was carrying an armful of clear umbrellas—and Chrissy’s mother, Kathy, immediately said “Audrey, we aren’t going to need those because it is NOT going to rain.” I wasn’t so sure at the time—but y’all—she was right!

Despite a few periods of drizzle, the 90% rain that was forecasted never materialized until well into the reception.

Chrissy and Justin had a beautiful day with their closest family and friends. It was a smaller celebration than they planned due to Covid, but it was still incredibly special. Chrissy and Justin originally did not plan on a first look—but, due to the weather opted for one. To make it even more special, Chrissy’s father walked her to Justin, who was beaming when he saw his beautiful bride.

At their ceremony, they exchanged vows and lit a unity candle to signify their coming together and we photographed their family pictures (including a few special ones with Chrissy and Betty). At the reception, they shared their first dance as husband and wife and enjoyed an intimate dinner with their family and friends. Chrissy’s father gave an emotional welcome speech that included expressing his gratitude for Betty—who placed Chrissy with the Mitchell family and answered their prayers.

It was just starting to drizzle when I pulled Justin and Chrissy out for a night shot. We marveled at the forecast and how the rain never materialized. I think it was a God thing—just like Chrissy was brought to the Mitchells and how Justin and Chrissy found one another. Justin and Chrissy—ya’ll have become friends, and I am so thankful I had the privilege of capturing this special time for you! I wish you every blessing as you begin this amazing journey of marriage!

Ben and Carolyn: Founders Memorial Garden and Little Mulberry Park Engagement

Ben and Carolyn have been SUCH a joy to get to know! Carolyn is originally from Connecticut, but she’s found a true southern gentleman in Ben. She envisioned part of her engagement session in a field, so we actually split their engagement session up over two different days so we could make that happen! The first day we met at Little Mulberry Park with her adorable dog, Maddie. (Special thanks to Carolyn’s mom for helping with Maddie during this portion of their session!) Maddie enjoyed some snuggles from Ben and Carolyn before she went to hang out with Carolyn’s mom for a bit. It was cloudy that day and we just finished before a storm set in!

For part II of their session we met at the Founders Memorial Garden at UGA, where Carolyn works for the athletic department. Carolyn looked classy and gorgeous in her blue lace dress and Ben was handsome and sweet as ever with his southern manners (he always answered me with a “yes ma’am”).

I am so grateful for the opportunity to capture this special time for this couple and I can’t wait for their wedding next summer!! Congratulations on your engagement Ben and Carolyn!!

Andrew and Laura: The Carl House

The first time I spoke with Andrew and Laura on the phone, I think our conversation was over an hour…and most of it wasn’t about photography! I’m not sure I’ve ever met and photographed the wedding of a couple I had SO much in common with….from Jane Austen, to refinishing furniture, to most importantly our faith, these two have grown to be incredibly dear to me in only a short time!

I’ll never forget Laura’s email to me when she first inquired—because in her message she said she loved all things southern, and lace and pearls (like me!) As I got to know them and their story, I learned Andrew proposed on the front porch of Laura’s parents’ home and that was a special place for them. When I arrived at Laura’s home to photograph her bridal details, Laura and her girls were upstairs in Laura’s room getting ready. I shot her beautiful details on her front porch, which included a pair of diamond and pearl earrings that her father gifted her mother on their wedding day, and then we headed over to the Carl House.

The Carl House is a beautiful, southern historic home located in the small town of Auburn, Georgia—and it fit everything Andrew and Laura envisioned for their wedding. Laura was the epitome of a beautiful, southern bride with her full, lace trimmed gown. One of her preschool students, Emma, was her flower girl, and we made sure to get some sweet photos with just the two of them!

Andrew held back tears at their first look, and then we had our first round of portraits with the two of them! Andrew and Laura are SO full of joy when they are together—Laura’s smile just lights up her beautiful face and the way Andrew looks at her is just so sweet—it’s the way every bride dreams her husband will look at her on their wedding day!

Their ceremony took place at Sunset and was God-centered and sweet—they prayed, lit a unity candle to signify their coming together, and sealed their vows with a kiss.

The reception was elegant and Laura’s mother hand-pained the covers of the books that served as the centerpieces of the table (the “titles” were either Andrew and Laura’s name or something significant to them). After a kiss on the balcony where Andrew spun Laura around, they descended the staircase and shared their first dance.

They enjoyed quality time with friends and family, and then the evening closed out with Andrew singing to Laura followed by a sparkler exit.

Andrew and Laura, y’all have quickly become friends and I am SO thankful that God brought you into my life! Y’all are very special to me, and I wish you every blessing as you begin this amazing journey called marriage! Congratulations!

Brenton and Catie: Cator Woolford Gardens Engagement

Our first attempt at Brenton and Catie’s Cator Woolford Gardens engagement session got rained out by a hurricane—but we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day when we rescheduled for yesterday morning! The weather was cool, the location was classically beautiful and Brenton and Catie looked amazing!! I had so much fun getting to hang out with these two. They were initially set up by mutual friends, and after dating, Brenton made plans to propose on a hike by a waterfall—but the location he picked was crowded. After multiple attempts to find a new location, Brenton found one he liked—but in order to wait until people cleared out, he had to convince Catie to walk around a few different times. His persitiance paid off and he finally got to pop the question in a quiet location—and of course Catie said yes! they are planning their wedding for one of my favorite venues—Empire Mills out in Madison, and I can’t wait for their wedding day!! Congratulations y’all—I hope you enjoy this season of engagement, excitement and anticipation!

Brandon and Hannah: The Barn at Little River

Brandon and Hannah were one of my couples who made the difficult decision to postpone their wedding due to Covid—and I doing so, they also had to move their venue location. Despite those challenges, they remained strong and positive and their day was ultimately so beautiful!!

Hannah’s details were so elegant and she was absolutely stunning! After getting zipped into her gown, we went out for bridal portraits. We had a friend land and check us out—a hawk who didn’t seem to mind our presence one bit! Once Brandon arrived, he and Hannah shared a first look and then exchanged private vows they wrote to one another. We had their first round of portraits and then finished bridal party photos so we could prep for the ceremony.

Lights were strung across the garden area where tables were set up for guests to visit. Brandon and Hannah’s ceremony location was under a sprawling oak tree, and Hannah’s father proudly walked her down the aisle to meet Brandon at the alter. After a sweet ceremony including mixing colored sand to signify their union, Brandon and Hannah sealed their vows with a kiss. After family portraits we shot their second round of portraits that we like to call “just married” portraits and then Brandon and Hannah went to join their family and friends for the last half of cocktail hour. Hannah’s friend and sorority sister, Caroline Stroud, provided guest entertainment as she painted a scene from their wedding during cocktail hour and the reception.

After the bridal party as introduced, Brandon and Hannah shared their first dance. Hannah and her father danced as her mother looked on, and then Brandon escorted his mother out to the dance floor for their mother-son dance. A taco bar was served and then Brandon and Hannah sliced their cake—where Brandon didn’t wait for Hannah to give him a bite—he went right for the cake and icing on the cake server!

The dance floor was opened and the party was underway. Hannah and Brandon had an amazing celebration with their closest friends and family and their perfect day ended with a bubble send-off. Despite the challenges they faced as they had to postpone and relocate their wedding, their day was truly beautiful and worth the wait! I am so honored to have had the opportunity to work with this sweet, amazing couple. Brandon and Hannah, I hope you have an amazing honeymoon—God bless you both as you begin this new chapter of marriage together!

Dalton and Hannah: 9 Oaks Farm, The Warehouse

In Georgia, you often see memes on social media about the constantly changing weather….and wow did we experience that at Dalton and Hannah’s wedding on Saturday!!

It started out sunny, but by the end of the evening we had dealt with drizzle, rain, sun again, a torrential downpour and thunder and lighting—all which caused Hannah and her coordinator Wendy to make the call to move her ceremony indoors.

Despite the roller-coaster weather, they had a truly beautiful day! Hannah was a STUNNING southern bride, and the colors she picked were just elegant! She and Dalton shared a first look, and I’m pretty sure Dalton couldn’t wipe the smile off his face for the rest of the day! The joy they experienced when they were together was evident, and they were so amazing in working with the weather. One of my favorite family photos was of Dalton and his grandparents—I asked him to look at his favorite grandmother and he stoically never moved his head, causing everyone to laugh!

Although their ceremony was moved indoors, it was simply beautiful with the string lights and crystal chandeliers overhead. Dalton shed a few tears of joy when he saw his beautiful bride cross the bridal suite and descend the stairs to her father, who escorted her down the aisle.

To signify their coming together, Dalton and Hannah poured crystals into a vase which they will later have melted down and made into a piece to display in their home—a unique and symbolic way to remember the day they became one.

The reception details were beautiful, and the cakes were so unique! Dalton LOVES golf, and so his groom cake (made by the amazing Caitlin with The Posh Cakery) and his cupcakes were so creative!

Hannah and Dalton shared their first dance, then Hannah danced with her father followed by Dalton dancing with his mother—and then Hannah finished the dances with a special dance with her 94-year-old grandfather…what a special and sweet moment!

Their night was wrapped up with a sparkler send off and their smiles said it all! They were SO happy and I am so thrilled for them! Dalton and Hannah, it was an honor for me to capture these special memories for you! I wish you every blessing as you begin this amazing new journey together!

Craig and Kristin: 9 Oaks Farm

Craig and Kristin’s wedding wasn’t just the coming together of two people—it was also the blending of their families. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and everything about their day—from Kristin’s details to her choice of table decor—was elegant.

Kristin’s daughter, Brianna, helped zip her mother into her wedding gown—and Kristin was beyond stunning! After a sweet first look with Kristin’s dad, we photographed her with her bridesmaids and her bridal portraits. After working with Craig and his guys, Kristin and Craig had a first touch and then we did a sweet first look with Craig and his daughter Callie.

At the ceremony, the bridal party danced down the aisle and Craig and Kristin both shed a few tears as she was escorted down the aisle by her son, Ayden. The ceremony included as special time for the family to blend paint colors on a canvas, signifying their coming together as one family. After the ceremony, Kristin was able to say a quick hello to her family who was unable to come to the wedding but was watching the ceremony live!

The reception details were beautiful, and Caitlin with the Posh Cakery set up a gorgeous display of cupcakes! After the bridal party was introduced, and Craig and Kristin shared their first dance, they had a special time of dancing for their new family. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the room (including mine) when Kristin danced with her son, Ayden. They were followed by Craig, Brianna and Callie sharing a dance.

There was lots of laughter and joy as their special guests celebrated their coming together—and the night was ended with an extraordinary fireworks send off, courtesy of DJ Randy! It was truly a heartfelt and elegant celebration of this sweet family—and it was so meaningful for me to have the privilege of working with them during this special time! Craig and Kristin—congratulations!! You have a beautiful family!!

Christopher and Brittany: State Botanical Gardens Maternity Session

When I used to teach, the hardest part was at the end of the year when my kids graduated…because I missed them so much! I find that I feel the same way about my sweet couples when the weddings are over…so one of the BEST things about my job is getting an email or a call from one of my couples asking me to photograph another special time for them—and for Christopher and Brittany, it was their maternity session!

These two are SO incredibly special to me. Brittany is as sweet as she can be and Christopher has a personality that will light up a room…and I genuinely have enjoyed every minute I’ve gotten to spend with these two from photographing their engagement session, to their wedding in Eatonton, to now capturing this special time for them!

The State Botanical Gardens has some significance to Christopher and Brittany—this is where we photographed their engagement session. Although it was hot, Christopher was a trooper and had us laughing the whole time. He’s pretty famous for wearing a hat, so I gave him a hard time about not having it for these photos. ;-)

They are going to be incredible parents—They have such sweet, kind, loving personalities—this little baby is one lucky little guy and is going to be so loved!

Christopher and Brittany—I love you both and I am SO thrilled for this exciting new chapter in your lives! It made my week to see y’all again, and I will be stalking your Facebook page to see photos of your sweet boy when he arrives!! Congratulations!!

Andrew and Laura: Little Mulberry Park Engagement

I firmly believe God brought Andrew and Laura into my life. When I first saw Laura’s email inquiry in my inbox, I realized her wedding date was the weekend of my daughter’s drill team competition, and was a date I had initially blocked off my schedule as being unavailable. But as I read her email, and how she described herself as the epitome of a classic southern girl who loved lace and pearls like I did, something gave me pause and made me want to find out more about their story.

When we set up our phone consultation, we ended up talking over an hour—and not just about them and their wedding! We had so much in common—most importantly our faith—and I just fell in love with this sweet couple over the phone. Even though it initially meant missing one day of my daughter’s competition, there was just something about Andrew and Laura that was special…and I was willing to work out the details so I could have the privilege of working with them.

Our second phone conversation lasted almost 90 minutes—and was mostly about refinishing furniture! Andrew sent me pictures of the furniture they had been working on in preparation for Laura to move in after the wedding. They wanted it to feel like home when they returned from their honeymoon. I found out Laura’s favorite Disney movie was Sleeping Beauty (also my favorite) and that Laura loved Jane Austen (my favorite writer). I was so excited when we finally were able to schedule their engagement session so I could meet them and spend some time with them. By then, I knew it was meant to be for us to work together—not only did something stop me from telling them I was unavailable, but my daughter’s competition was moved to another weekend—God had worked everything out perfectly!

Andrew offered to bring me a coffee (another love we all share) on the way to their session…that’s just how sweet and thoughtful these two are. Andrew was a trooper posing in a jacket and long sleeved shirt in 90 degree weather and full sun to start their session! By the time we were wrapping up their dressy outfit, the clouds had rolled in and the temperature (thankfully) began to drop. I think Andrew felt much better when he got to change into a short sleeved shirt and shorts! Laura was radiantly beautiful in her long flowy dress, and At the end of our session, Andrew and Laura handed me a Starbucks gift card. Y’all—these two are the SWEETEST ever!! I just loved the interaction between them—they are so full of joy and you can’t help but be happy just being around them. I am beyond excited to have the privilege of capturing their story, and I can’t wait for their wedding day at the end of September!!
