Andrew and Laura: Little Mulberry Park Engagement

I firmly believe God brought Andrew and Laura into my life. When I first saw Laura’s email inquiry in my inbox, I realized her wedding date was the weekend of my daughter’s drill team competition, and was a date I had initially blocked off my schedule as being unavailable. But as I read her email, and how she described herself as the epitome of a classic southern girl who loved lace and pearls like I did, something gave me pause and made me want to find out more about their story.

When we set up our phone consultation, we ended up talking over an hour—and not just about them and their wedding! We had so much in common—most importantly our faith—and I just fell in love with this sweet couple over the phone. Even though it initially meant missing one day of my daughter’s competition, there was just something about Andrew and Laura that was special…and I was willing to work out the details so I could have the privilege of working with them.

Our second phone conversation lasted almost 90 minutes—and was mostly about refinishing furniture! Andrew sent me pictures of the furniture they had been working on in preparation for Laura to move in after the wedding. They wanted it to feel like home when they returned from their honeymoon. I found out Laura’s favorite Disney movie was Sleeping Beauty (also my favorite) and that Laura loved Jane Austen (my favorite writer). I was so excited when we finally were able to schedule their engagement session so I could meet them and spend some time with them. By then, I knew it was meant to be for us to work together—not only did something stop me from telling them I was unavailable, but my daughter’s competition was moved to another weekend—God had worked everything out perfectly!

Andrew offered to bring me a coffee (another love we all share) on the way to their session…that’s just how sweet and thoughtful these two are. Andrew was a trooper posing in a jacket and long sleeved shirt in 90 degree weather and full sun to start their session! By the time we were wrapping up their dressy outfit, the clouds had rolled in and the temperature (thankfully) began to drop. I think Andrew felt much better when he got to change into a short sleeved shirt and shorts! Laura was radiantly beautiful in her long flowy dress, and At the end of our session, Andrew and Laura handed me a Starbucks gift card. Y’all—these two are the SWEETEST ever!! I just loved the interaction between them—they are so full of joy and you can’t help but be happy just being around them. I am beyond excited to have the privilege of capturing their story, and I can’t wait for their wedding day at the end of September!!
