Zach and Julia: Backyard Summer Wedding

Zach and Julia were supposed to get married in May—but the Covid shut down forced them to postpone their wedding. Despite the August heat (and a few run ins with some ants) their backyard farm wedding was GORGEOUS! Julia’s color palette was soft, romantic, and stunning—and Social Sisters Designs did an INCREDIBLE job on the florals, decor, and really making Julia’s vision a reality!

I always love working weddings with Jess Boulter—she’s a fantastic coordinator and she kept everything running smoothly at Julia’s family farm. The farm was a picturesque backdrop complete with a pond, oak trees with leafy canopies and cattle and horses scattered about. With a white tent for the reception it was the perfect location for their wedding!

After photographing Julia’s details, we headed out for photos with Julia and her girls. We had an almost “oops” moment when Zach emerged from the house right when we were getting ready to photograph Julia and her girls—so the girls jumped right into action and used their bouquets to shield Julia from Zach’s view.

Julia also had a special family heirloom—her grandmother’s wedding ring—that she wore for her wedding day. We made sure to get some special photos with that beautiful and sentimental piece.

The ceremony took place under a beautiful oak tree beside the pond. The cattle decided to utilize the pond to cool off and get a better view. A soft white drape was threaded through the tree branches and two silver chandeliers hung from tree. Zach and Julia exchanged their vows in front of their family and friends.

The reception took place under a large white tent lined with lights, and a chandelier hung from the center. It was a gorgeous ceremony and lively celebration as the sun set behind the hills of the farm in the distance.

Zach and Julia, I so enjoyed getting to know y’all and capture these memories for you! I know postponing your wedding wasn’t what you wanted, but the day turned out gorgeous!! I wish y’all the best as you begin this next chapter in your lives!
