Josh and Ashley are one of those couples that you just love as soon as you meet. They are so down to earth and so full of joy that you can’t help but be happy when you are around them.
They met in college, began dating, and not too long after Josh proposed at the beach. Their wedding took place last night at 9 Oaks Farm in Monroe—and it was truly a perfect day for them!!
When I arrived I got to meet Ashley’s sweet sisters and friends—and y’all they were SUCH a joy to hang out with!! They were the sweetest group of girls! After photographing Ashley’s details, Ashley’s mom and her sisters helped her into her gorgeous tulle gown.
As we prepared to cross the property in the 90 degree heat, Ashley asked her coordinator, Nate, for the golf cart. When we walked outside, we didn’t see Nate—and the golf cart was parked at the door. I told Ashley I had NO idea how to drive a golf cart. Ashley probably saw the panicked look in my eyes because she volunteered to drive us (in her wedding gown!!) over to the White House where we were planning to do her bridal portraits. Luckily about that time, Nate appeared to drive us! (Honestly, I was pretty relieved! I was in a no-win situation with risking wrecking the golf cart or letting Ashley drive in her wedding gown!!)
After a sweet first look with her dad and family portraits, we worked with Ashley and her girls quickly so we didn’t keep them in the heat too long. We gave Ashley a break to freshen up before her first look, and after she cooled off we brought her out to meet her handsome groom!
Josh was emotional when he turned to see his beautiful bride. I think speechless is probably the right word, and how could be not be? Ashley was absolutely radiant!
We spent some time with portraits and finished before the ceremony with more bridal party photos.
Their ceremony was outdoors, sweet and intimate with their closest friends and family. On and her sister, Ann did a beautiful job with the floral arbor! Mason jars suspended from shepherds hooks floated above scattered rose petals. It was such a romantic setting! Josh and Ashley sealed their vows with a kiss and after family portraits, we set off to capture their “just married” portraits.
They enjoyed an intimate dinner before being introduced to the reception. When DJ Randy is in charge of the party, there is never a dull moment! He kept the crowd engaged and dancing with some great music! When it came time for the bouquet and garter toss, I have to admit I was laughing as Josh seductively unbuttoned his vest and took off his tie.
As the night came to a close, their was one more beautiful finale—on top of the sparkler send off, Randy lit up the skies with some beautiful fireworks to create an amazing memory for Josh and Ashley as their wedding day came to a close.
I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work with this amazing couple and privileged to capture these memories for them! They both have such good hearts, sweet souls, and are so full of joy—what an incredible way to begin a lasting marriage! Josh and Ashley, I hope you have an amazing honeymoon and that the first chapter of the rest of your lives is filled with beautiful memories! May God bless you and keep you both.
