As soon as I met Ryan and Olivia, I knew they’d become a special couple to me! They are so genuine and sweet, and when Olivia smiles, her entire face lights up. Their beautiful winter wedding at the Variety Works was the culmination of NINE years of building a relationship for these high school sweethearts, and they couldn’t have been more excited to finally make it official!
The weather was mostly cloudy in Madison when we arrived to document their day. Olivia looked stunning in her off the shoulder lace gown, and JL Designs knocked her bouquet out of the park. The colors of the bouquets provided the jewel tone look Olivia wanted against the backdrop of the bridesmaids’ emerald green gowns. After a sweet first look with her father, and exchanging gifts, we photographed Olivia and her girls before prepping for her first look with Ryan.
Since we had some cloud cover, we knew Olivia loved the lake, and we settled on that for their first look location. Their immediate family looked on as Olivia called Ryan’s name. Ryan turned and saw his beautiful bride walking toward him, and then both got emotional—it was such a sweet and memorable moment!
We went into their first round of portraits by the bridge. Our team loves to work with Marc, Jason, and Josh with Redline Pros Videography, and they always keep you laughing…everyone teased Marc for his fanny pack AHEM…”Tactical Satchel”….but it definitely came in handy several times throughout the day! ;-)
After some portraits, we photographed the full bridal party and then worked with Ryan and his guys before tucking everyone away to prepare for the ceremony.
When the ceremony arrived, Olivia’s father escorted her to her handsome groom, and they exchanged vows and braided cords to symbolize the strength of their relationship. Finally, FINALLY….after NINE years…their pastor pronounced them husband and wife and Ryan kissed his bride!
We went directly into family photos followed by more portraits of Ryan and Olivia before delivering them back to the bridal suite to enjoy a private dinner. They were introduced first into the reception where the girls came in and danced, followed by the guys. Ryan and Olivia shared their first dance as husband and wife, and then their guests enjoyed a BBQ dinner. After dinner, Olivia danced with her father, and Ryan danced with his mother. They cut the cake and the dance floor was opened so their guests could party and celebrate them.
Finally, at the end of the night, as guests filed out to grab their sparklers, Ryan and Olivia shared a private last dance. They exited through a tunnel of sparklers and were ready to start the first chapter of their “Happily Ever After.” Congratulations, Ryan and Olivia—may God richly bless your marriage!!
