I adored Aileen as soon as I met her…she is SO full of life and joy that you can’t help but be happy when you are around her! She was also a foreign language teacher at Norcross, so we had a lot in common! She also has a blog—Teach, Travel Tell—that documents her many trips and adventures. Aileen is spontaneous, and lives to travel. She will decide to hop a plane at the drop of a hat and go to a place she’s never been.
Drake and Aileen met in high school and have been together ever since. Drake actually proposed to Aileen on her blog—he wrote a proposal for her that she read and of course she said YES to traveling and spending her days with Drake!
Kristal and I met Aileen and her bridesmaids at the Westin in Atlanta where they were getting ready for ceremony. We photographed her details, the girls hanging out and getting dressed and then went out for a first look with Aileen’s father followed by a sweet first look with Drake.
After a few portraits (or as many as they could stand in the heat!!) we headed to St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Roswell—where Aileen has attended since she was a child.
Their mass was attended by their family—Covid changed a lot of things for them—including their guest list and their reception—but they didn’t let that stop what was most important to them—becoming husband and wife.
After Mass, we went outside to finish bridal party photos, and portraits of Drake and Aileen. Then, they were off to celebrate with a small intimate dinner. Their reception will take place next summer, when all of their family and friends can be together to celebrate this sweet couple.
Drake and Aileen, thank you for allowing me to capture your beautiful day! You two are truly a special couple—and I pray your days are full of the same joy you always have when I am around you, and of course, LOTS of new adventures!!
