Alvin and Alysia: The Variety Works, Madison Georgia

In Georgia, “winter” usually can mean anything from weather in the teens all the way up to the 60’s. For Alysia and Alvin’s winter wedding, the weather was pretty mild and in the mid-fifties with lots of sunshine! It was such a beautiful day! When I arrived I was greeted by Harry, their dog, who was hanging out with the girls in the bridal suite. Harry was pretty skeptical of our cameras, and even after putting them on the ground so he could check them out he still wasn’t a fan.

We worked with the guys while the girls finished their hair and make-up. When we went back into the bridal suite and were getting Alysia ready to slip into her dress, Harry skittered under the skirts of her gown and peeped out at the girls who were spread out and getting into their dresses.

After getting shots of the girls, we brought Alvin out for the first look. When he turned to see Alysia walking toward him, he was full of emotion…and even Kristal and I were tearing up as we photographed that special moment.

After some portraits, Alysia slipped back into the bridal suite to freshen up for the ceremony and Kristal and I headed to capture the ceremony and reception details. Bouquets of Baby’s Breath lined the aisle and a cake surrounded by cupcakes, donuts and macaroons adorned the rustic cart.

When it came time for Alysia to make her grand entrance, she appeared at the top of the stairs and glided down to her father who escorted her to Alvin. They exchanged vows they had written to one another and Alysia’s brother, who was acting as the officiant, pronounced them man and wife.

After family photos and another round of “just married” photos of Alysia and Alvin, it was time for the reception. Alvin escorted his beautiful bride into the room for their first dance. The evening was lively with music and dancing, and Alysia and Alvin ended their evening with a sparkler send off.

This sweet family was a joy to work with! Alysia and Alvin, I wish you every blessing as you begin this amazing journey of marriage! It was a privilege for me to capture these memories for you!
