Christopher and Brittany: Talmo Farms, Eatonton Georgia

I will never forget when I first met Brittany…she is a nurse in Athens, and when I met her at Dunkin’ Donuts for a consultation she had just gotten off night shift. She is such a genuine, sweet person and I loved her immediately. When I met them in Athens for their engagement session, I was laughing the entire time…Christopher is SO much fun to be around!

When Kristal and I drove out to their wedding location in Eatonton, we found Talmo Farm which was perched atop a small rise and overlooked a view that was nothing short of breathtaking. We had been watching the weather and the radar and were lucky to escape the chances of rain that had been forecast for their day. The wind was pretty strong, but it made for some beautiful veil shots with Brittany’s cathedral length veil! After greeting the girls and Brittany in the bridal suite, ee got to work on her details and then went to find Christopher so he could open his gift.

Christopher is notorious for wearing a baseball cap…he even brought it to their engagement session—so I teased him about that as we headed outside for him to read his letter and open his gift. Brittany gave him a golf club which he looked at every time they were in Dick’s Sporting Goods and he grinned when he saw it.

Christopher gifted his beautiful bride with a custom made diamond necklace. The diamond was the first diamond his step-father had given his mother.

After hanging out with the guys we went to grab Brittany and the girls for some photos. Brittany was a trooper. She had been feeling a little under the weather, and between that and the strong winds she handled everything so well! We took the girls down to a bend in the road before you came to the farm. The trees provided some gorgeous fall colors and acted as a windbreak to protect the girls. While we were finishing pictures with the girls, a guest pulled up and informed us they had just killed a Timber Rattlesnake only yards from where we were standing and to be careful. I was grateful I had tall boots on!

We headed up to prep for the ceremony and Christopher and Brittany shared a first touch and a special prayer with Christopher’s father. Brittany’s father escorted her down the aisle, and they both battled the wind with Brittany’s cathedral length veil and blusher. Christopher grinned as he watched his beautiful bride walking toward him. They exchanged vows and completed a rustic cross sculpture, and were then pronounced man and wife!

We went right into family formals and then worked with the bridal party before whisking Christopher and Brittany back down to the path in the woods. (Oh and y’all—Christopher, Brittany and the bridal party were one of the most polite groups I’ve ever worked with! Everything was “yes ma’am” or “no ma’am”….the epitome of southern manners!) The owner of the farm told us to watch out for yellow jackets. I smiled at Brittany and said “Timber rattlers…yellow jackets…is there anything else I need to know about?” She laughed and replied “Welcome to Eatonton!” I joked with Christopher that he was on rattler watch while we shot their portraits. When we headed back up to the open field, the clouds broke up and the sun came out for only about five minutes.…but we were thrilled to get even that!

Christopher and Brittany were introduced at their reception, shared their first dance to Cross My Heart (Which was also the song my husband and I danced to at our wedding!) and then Brittany danced with her father and Christopher danced with his mother.

Outside the glass doors, a fire roared and most of the guests hung out there while the sun set. It was truly a beautiful day with great people! I’m so thankful God brought this sweet couple into my life. Christopher and Brittany, I wish you every happiness as you begin this amazing new chapter in your lives! I love y’all to the moon—and Christopher—I may even let you wear that baseball cap if you are ever in front of my camera again!! ;-)
