The very first time I met Emily was at Kaylynn’s engagement session. I remember meeting her in the barn apartment, and had no idea then that a few years later, I’d be photographing her wedding in the same location! I saw Emily again when she was a bridesmaid in Kaylynn’s wedding, so when her mother, Ruth, called me to see if I was available, I was thrilled to get to see her again and capture her special day!
Trey and Emily are just so sweet and down to Earth—I loved getting to chat with Trey at their engagement session about his fruit trees. They were engaged in New York, and planned their wedding in only a few short months—but y’all—the outcome was absolutely stunning!
Everything about their day was classic—from her beautiful monogram invitations and napkins, to her lace gown and cathedral length veil, to the soft wedgewood blue colors. Even Emily’s bouquet had a special touch and was wrapped in lace and material from her mother and grandmother’s wedding gowns. Emily, her mother and Chasity Burroughs Events collaborated and came up with the design plans and Gussie’s House of Flowers made the careful plans come to life! Emily was just elegant, and both her father and her brothers enjoyed a first look with her.
Emily let me know the cross on the back patio was a special place for them—so that’s where Trey got to see his beautiful bride for the first time! He couldn’t help but get a little emotional as Emily walked to him, veil blowing in the wind. After enjoying a few private moments, we spent a few minutes on some portraits.
When the ceremony time grew near, the trolley began transporting guests down to the farmhouse lawn where blue and white floral tablecloths draped cocktail tables and a fizzy truck waited to greet them. After selecting their drink of choice, the guests found their way to their seats in front of the gorgeous, sprawling oak that was draped with a blanket of flowers.
Emily’s father escorted her out of their farmhouse and down the aisle to Trey, who waited with a smile. They exchanged vows and rings, and were pronounced husband and wife.
About that time, the wind, which we’d been battling all day, really picked up—so we hurried to get family portraits in and another round of bride/groom portraits before the rain set in and then the bridal party traveled to 9 Oaks Farm for the reception on the trolley.
9 Oaks Farm was sparkling and gorgeous—white sheer curtains and glittering lights framed the reception room. The tables were draped in classic white and floral cloths and the arrangements were soft and beautiful. Trey and Emily and their bridal party were announced, and the celebration began!
Their day was truly a beautiful and memorable event that their families will always remember! Trey and Emily—congratulations! May the Lord abundantly bless your marriage!
